Hatagua Community Water Supply Project
Hatagua Community Water Supply Project
This project stemmed from basic livelihood concern especially water access in rural communities. Hatagua Community in west Rennell confronted constant water shortages due to distance from water sources and their dependence on rain catchment. Families have to fetch water by using buckets and containers they bought from local shops. Some used pots and bottles while others have nothing to fetch water with due to low supply high demand. Over the years, the people experienced droughts due to weather patterns that is constantly changing resulting from climate change. Hence, to ease this problem, our community have seen it beneficial to secure a water supply project of this nature would truly serve our dire need not only now but for future generations as well.

Objective is provide easy access to clean and safe water for the community, especially for women, children and people with special needs.

The expected outputs are;

1. To provide easy access to clean and safe water for Hatagua community, especially women and children and disable ones.

2. To end dependence and reliance on traditional practice to access water in rural community in pacific islands but especially Hatagua Community in west Rennell in Renbel province, Solomon Islands.

3. To encourage friendly environmental project which will not severely affect our ever-changing climate in local communities.
