Land management and soil conservation program
The project is based on internal control development on organic farming & manual preparation, pest management, organic manure and pesticide making, spices nursery management and agroforestry development with Moringa sap. The general objectives of the project will be the prevention of land degradation through Land management and soil conservation Program in Arghakhanchi District of Nepal. The specific objectives will be enhancing the knowledge of farmers regarding the causes and effect of land degradation, farmers field demonstration of different soil conservation methods, improving the land quality through different nutrient enrichment methods, encouraging agro forestry as a method of soil conservation also increasing the overall production of high value organic cash crops.

Project Characteristics and Results
Capacity - Building Component
A variety of skill development trainings and awareness programmes will be organised in the programme area for the local farmers involve in organic farming. The programme aims to provide organic pest and fertilizer training for farmers in the area. Internal control system (ICS), ICS training will be organised for the farmers. Several trainings will be organise in the programme area for enhancing knowledge on ICS, expanding awareness on the importance of organic farming and ways to farm organically. An Organic Pest and Fertilizer Training for Farmers in the Programme Area will be organised so as to maintain organic standards. Similarly, A Agricultural Products,Herbs and Maringa Nursery will be established in the area. Others skill development trainings bio-diversity conservation, natural resources management, waste disposal and sanitation, etc. will be conducted at periodic interval to the farmers.
Inovative Financial Mechanisms
The publication of organic manual, guidelines materials is equally important to carry out the desired objectives. As per the programme objectives, manuals, guidelines material will be published and distributed in the programme area. The manuals, checklists, ICS record book, daily record sheets will be distributed to the farmers so as to assure the quality of the products with the approved standards. The project should enhance Nepal?s organic standard and focus on policy and legal framework in accordance with the Nepal?s organic standards, policies and legal framework.
