Engaging Local Government in Environmental issues through Communication (ENGAGE-Com)
This project aims to support and sensitize local governments through media and communication component. The objectives of the project are;
- To support policy advocacy in local level and raise awareness among and sensitize local people about
environment and biodiversity issues in the changing context based the GEF SGP landscape areas of new country strategy programme and landscape approach.
- To sensitize local governments to formulate environment and bio diversity friendly policies to protect
and promote environment and biodiversity in their respective areas by exploring best practices under the support of SGP.
- To mobilize and support media sectors to promote the cooperation between local governments and media sectors to boost the environment and biodiversity issues by linking local people.
- To develop synergy by documenting and producing knowledge to link academic sectors, policy makers and NGOs/CBOs sectors regarding sustainable development goal and SGP Landscape concept through the publication of the reference materials.

Project Characteristics and Results
Promoting Public Awareness of Global Environment
Audience will be informed on the progress and impacts of SGP funded project alone with the project status and impact on the livelihood of beneficiaries. The project will result documentary, TV reports, talk shows, and public hearing based on the projects implemented by the client (SGP). We are also open to replicating similar kind of media activities if client agrees in the days to come.
Policy Impact
Increment in policy dialogues between stakeholders and Policy makers and local media will follow these issues even after the project phase out.
