Community-Based Climate Change Adaptation for Sustainable Water and Food Security.
Phonsa-ad village located in lower Xepian River, Sanamxay district with total area 9,575.40 ha, 549.90 ha of plain for animals feed and 146.7 ha for rice plantation; there are 168 households with 180 families and the total population is 878 people with 478 women. Most of the villagers make their living primarily based on natural season. Since building the dam, Phonsa-Ad village has been affected by natural disasters, the weather has changed every year, there are many several wildfires, droughts, rain doesn?t seasonally but flooding. So, villagers don?t have sufficient water for agricultural production, especially rice and vegetables, agricultural area has lost, the road were broken and make it difficult for villagers to travel. Climate change is affecting villagers' livelihoods widely, particularly in areas where agriculture is dependent on natural resources.
