The Watershed Forest Resources Conservation for Climate Change Adaptation.
Pakchan village, Meun district, Vientiane province is facing problem of the destruction of natural resources and environment conservation forest area of the village and along the Nam Chan creek, which flows through the village and into the Mekong River, including the encroachment of forest clearing and the use of herbicides spread into the river, People's livelihood and food security have been negatively impacted by environmental issues, notably the Mekong River. The danger that climate change poses to the lives of people all over the globe, particularly those who live in rural regions and work in seasonal agriculture and another crucial problem. In the project area, there is a village protected forest area and an upstream forest area that flows into Nam Chan creek, while the Nam Chan creek drains into the Mekong River. During the dry season, villager's can't to save water which makes it tough to survive. In light of this circumstance, the village and district administrations have deemed an essential to protect the upstream forest in order to provide moisture for the forest and provide drinking water. The project aims to determine the sustainable conservation area for local forest resources; enhance the growth of alternative vocations within the community; and promote the administration of village funds.
