The strengthening Livelihood Development of the Community to Climate Change Adaptation at Tarling Village, Botaen District, Xayyabouly Province.
Tarling village located in Botaen district, Xayabouly province with total area 2,239.60 ha and population of 992, 501 female, 203 families, there are Lao ethnic group and Buddhis. Taling village has a river flow from Thailand, and it dries up in the dry season, which is not sufficient for agricultural production and the community's livelihood. Climate change is currently affecting a large area of Tarling village, increasing the severity of floods, drought, low rainfall, river volume reduction and landslides in many patterns which effected to the sustainable development. The project aims to help the community know the importance of upper stream area for forest resource conservation; increase capacity of the water resource use for community?s benefit as well as community strengthening.
