Reviving traditional, aesthetic and productive landscapes for sustainable livelihoods in Jabal Moussa Biosphere Reserve (REVIVE Project).
LEB/SGP/OP7/Y3/CORE/LD/2023/01
This project aims at restoring more than 10ha of degraded area at the Jabal Moussa Biosphere Reserve to be a pilot site
that demonstrates the feasibility of relying on traditional terraces to restore degraded areas and to stop erosion. Also will
contribute in the revival of 5 ha of old dry stone terraces in agricultural lands and promotion of sustainable agricultural
practices among local farmers through signing of conservation agreements with farmers and distribution of wild or
heirloom species, training of farmers and one-to-one visits by agroforestry expert to set up baseline data for the first year,
thus enhancing the capacities of APJM in planning and implementing restoration initiatives based on local resources and
craftsmanship.
