Klang Valley Green Space Connector, the ?Rantaian Urban Green Space? (RUGS)
This project focus on the alliance between various key stakeholders and civil society actors based in Klang Valley in order to share knowledge, plan and implement initiatives to conserve, rehabilitate and improve their respective green spaces. This project aims to steward and support community-driven conservation initiatives to protect and rehabilitate the fragmented green spaces (e.g. community
forests, urban wetlands, urban parks, etc.) based on socio-ecological resilience baseline assessments of target landscape. This builds up to the subsequent aim of the project, which is to establish RUGS. RUGS proposes to identify and connect the isolated green spaces (e.g. community forests, forest reserves, urban forests, plantation forests, and urban parks). The local guardians of their respective green spaces play a key role in the efforts to connect the green spaces, monitor and maintain the linkages. The first phase (Phase I) of RUGS will commence from the Damansara Arc, linking to the Federal Hill forest complex in Klang Valley.
