Dissemination of renewable and clean energy solutions sustainably in Batiagarh, Damoh

Batiyagarh is one of the 7 blocks of district- Damoh, Madhya Pradesh. As per MP electricity board data, out of total 205 villages of Batiyagarh, 50 villages haven?t got electricity connections. People are entirely dependent on traditional sources for lighting and other energy needs. The situation is not only dangerous to their health but also creating hazard to environment. Most of the electrified villages of Batiagarh, there is single phase connections. Under Soubhagya Vidutikaran Yojana,. Distribution lines installed in these villages are in very poor state. All the villages are connected with single phase and not having proper number of transformers to distribute the electricity. Therefore, people any how get erratic electricity supply for the households. But for ground water irrigation in these agriculture rich area, single phase connection is of no use. People are looking for alternative source for the irrigation. Solar based irrigation can be best alternative. Public

Project Characteristics and Results

Notable Community Participation

Project is very much inclusive in nature. Participation of women, youth and person with disabilities have been specially and naturally ensured. Selection of dealers and technicians who are pivotal for success and sustainability of the project will comprise of youth, women and person with disabilities. To ensure this SHGs, NGOs active in target area will be integrated with the projects. All the products and service are will provided to the local indigenous people living in remote villages, therefore their participation will be must for success of the project. Women are direct beneficiaries of some products like unnat chulha, home light system etc, hence most of the promotional activities will be focused to women for their inclusiveness. There will meetings, cinferences, trainings, promotions, for women. Similarly all these activities will target specially abled group, indigenous people,,men and women, public representatives for their involvement in the project.

Inovative Financial Mechanisms

This will be a regular activity in the project. Management Information Syetem (MIS) will be developed in the project after taking professional and prior experiences of team leader and other staffs. Thorough various type of MIS such purchase report, sale report, complain register, feed -back form etc., various type information will be collected. Similary reports of all the activities such as training programmes, promotion activities, door to door campaign, survey report will have collected centrally at the project office. These reports will also contain photographas and videos which will further be compiled as a detailed report on certain time interval. After implementation of the project certain period, there will study conducted to know progress in the project, it will consist of case studies, feedback of the various stakeholders, suggestions taken from various institutions to improve the project activities. Training programmes for entrepreneurs, technicians, SHGs, NGOs, CBOs, and other organisation will be conducted on regular interval. These programmes will be very interactive where knowledge sharing will be recorded thoroughly. Photography, videography of most of the activities, that will also a process of recording the knowledge and sharing with stakeholder and other will have positive impact. There will be system of publishing all important learning on regular interval Reports will also be prepared based project mandate and as suggestions, requirements and direction coming from TERI and Other.

Project Results

In this project we will start our services from the villages of block- Batiyagarh and will expand to all neighbouring blocks of Damoh and other districts during the project period.
At the end the project cycle we will have following achievements:
(1) Total no. of households having solar systems in unelectrified villages- 2000
(2) Total no. of households having solar systems in the electrified villages- 5000
(3) Total no. of households having any other renewable energy technology systems such as efficient chulha, solar water heater- 3000
(4) Total no. of entrepreneurs developed in the project- 100
(5) Total no. of Technicians (men and women) trained and developed in this project-250
(6) Total no. of SHGs associated with project-200
(7) Total no. of women entrepreneurs trained in the project- 50
(8) Total no. of NGOs associated with the project-100
(9) Total no. of cooperative associated with the project- 50
