Dissemination of renewable and clean energy solutions sustainably in Batiagarh, Damoh
Batiyagarh is one of the 7 blocks of district- Damoh, Madhya Pradesh. As per MP electricity board data, out of total 205 villages of Batiyagarh, 50 villages haven?t got electricity connections. People are entirely dependent on traditional sources for lighting and other energy needs. The situation is not only dangerous to their health but also creating hazard to environment. Most of the electrified villages of Batiagarh, there is single phase connections. Under Soubhagya Vidutikaran Yojana,. Distribution lines installed in these villages are in very poor state. All the villages are connected with single phase and not having proper number of transformers to distribute the electricity. Therefore, people any how get erratic electricity supply for the households. But for ground water irrigation in these agriculture rich area, single phase connection is of no use. People are looking for alternative source for the irrigation. Solar based irrigation can be best alternative. Public lighting such as street light, community light is in very poor state in most of the villages of Batiagarh. People in the villages are living uncomfortable night life. Solar street Light with latest technology can be best source for this. After discussion with many village Heads (Pradhans) , it was common opinion that they could use their Panchayat funds for solar street lights provided they get proper information related their uses, efficacies and cost effectiveness. Similarly, there are also requirement of solar power plants for the households and also for the public places such as Panchayat Bhawan, temples, school, societies etc. Panchayat fund and other govt. fund can be allocated to these purposes if the project provided proper infrastructure to implement and maintain solar based projects. In view of above mentioned situation, the project objective is ?to provide innovative renewable energy technologies based systems to the unelectrified and electrified villages of Batiyagarh and surrounding districts to mitigate GHG emissions by establishing strong sustainable market network having entrepreneurs (men and women), technicians (men and women), efficient supply chain and backing of NGOs, cooperative, Women SHGs, Panchayat bodies and. CBOs?. This can also be replicated not in MP but also in other states of India. Activities to be undertaken in the projects are providing renewables energy based products and services to the people of Batiyagarh. capacity building and developments of dealers and technicians. undertaking capacity building programme, promotion of uses of renewable energy technologies, innovation of products, establishing network of local institutions, expansion of the activities in other areas.
