The Gulf of Mannar region in Ramnad district is enriched with productive habitats such as coral reefs, seagrasses, mangroves, estuaries, rocky shores and sandy beaches. The Gulf of Mannar has drawn attention of conservationists even before the initiation of the Man and Biosphere (MAB) program by the UNESCO in 1971. Promoting Public Awareness of Global Environment
In the present scenario due to the advance development Information and communication Technology, any communications can be send in a swift mode. Moreover, it studied that each and every beneficiary are the user of android mobile phone in which the communication can be shared through email/Whatapps and other software application. In the meantime the preparation and distribution of IEC material will be distributed to raise awareness. Other than this the folk and art media and street theatre community radio are the method of communication to create awareness and also the early warning systems can be disseminated through digital display and through loud speakers.
Inovative Financial Mechanisms
Knowledge management system adopted hrough the process of documentation of traditional knowledge and associated knowledge to create a community knowledge registrar with the support of Nation Biodiversity Authority of India. The People Biodiversity Register can be used as a tool to document the biodiversity of the project area. All these knowledge will be available in a common platform to access the information by the beneficiary group at all the time. The collection of information and knowledge will be systematically documented and then make e-publication and periodical and journals etc. it is also possible to develop website to disseminate information and YouTube channels and social media.
