Overall objectives/activities to be implemented under the grants: Improve knowledge and capacity on
adapting to natural disasters in the context of climate change for ethnic groups in Ky Son district, Nghe An
province.
Specific objectives are presented below:
Objective 1. Improving knowledge and capacity on adapting to natural disasters in the context of climate change
for ethnic minorities in Ky Son district, Nghe An province.
Objective 2. Building a model for developing poor natural forests as watershed protection forests on the basis of
forest allocation to implement sustainable management plans, develop Bon Bo trees and other medicinal herbs
under the forest canopy, and develop ecotourism and community-based tourism associated with forest landscapes
in order to enhance the protective capacity of forests and diversify forest livelihoods for ethnic groups in Ky Son
district?s Tay Son, Nam Can, My Ly, and Muong Long communes.
Objective 3. Documenting the results, lessons, and experiences of the project and propose solutions to upscale
and replicate effective models to governments at all levels and relevant departments and agencies.
