Climate and Food Safety
Climate and Food Safety
Our project aims to organize a meeting called "Agroecology for Climate, Food Security and Human Rights". Our meeting will be designed as a workshop. It aims to discuss agroecology not only as an agricultural method but also in a multidisciplinary manner with the participation of different actors on the axis of climate change, the right to food, biodiversity, and human rights.

Agroecology is not just an agricultural method or process; it is a fundamental method for achieving and realizing climate change, the right to food, biodiversity, and especially gender equality. Our meeting will address and discuss agroecology in terms of agriculture, food, biodiversity, law, economy, and gender. Participants will be selected from different educational backgrounds and professional groups. This way, agroecology will be brought to the agenda as a method and advocacy area for climate, food, and biodiversity crises. After organizing this meeting, it is aimed to organize an Agroecology School annually, and this meeting is a pioneer for future planning and studies.

Agroecology addresses multiple sustainable development goals and provides solutions. It directly contributes to the objectives of SDG 1, SDG 2, SDG 5, SDG 8, SDG 10, SDG 13, and SDG 15, which are detailed below. At the same time, due to its focus on climate change, biodiversity, and land degradation, our project will directly contribute to all 6th Term priorities of the GEF SGP (BD, CC, LD, POPs, CD, Cross-cutting issues) in the form of raising information and awareness. It is designed to protect gender equality, contribute to the local economy, and increase women's employment.
