Semeando saberes e alimentando conhecimento de forma sustentável no assentamento Pedra Branca. Sowing knowledge and nurturing knowledge in a sustainable way in the Pedra Branca settlement.

This project aims to increase the quality of cassava products purchased,
through the implementation of a sustainable flour and starch production system
directly benefiting 22 families from the Pedra Branca Settlement; guarantee water
for production with rainwater storage, through the construction of 2
cisterns with a capacity of 52,000 liters; ensure better working conditions
for women in carrying out their activities during periods of
flour and in the production of starch by-products for commercialization, through
implementation of an equipped kitchen attached to the flour mill; reduce the consumption of
dirty source energy with the installation of a solar energy system in the flour house,
as well as the preservation of native vegetation and native seeds, through
implementation of native plant nursery

Promoting Public Awareness of Global Environment

Policy Impact

One factor that will guarantee the continuity of the project's actions is the association's involvement with other groups seeking to guarantee policies aimed at the sustainable development of the Alto Poti landscape.

Sharing the learning acquired through visiting groups and people in the community. - Publicity through social networks. - Carrying out exchanges to exchange experiences and knowledge. - Participation in meetings and courses to demonstrate the successful experiences acquired by the project. - Carrying out exhibition and marketing fairs for products.

Gender Focus

The project is providing a space for women to speak, taking into account their desires, objectives, proposals and activities aimed at them; - Providing activities that benefit all people, especially women, taking into account expectations and their daily reality, including observing meeting times where they can participate; - Supporting activities aimed at women, such as: improving the productive backyard, through the cultivation of agroecological products and income generation and optimization of time, through the expansion of the flour house with a community kitchen to facilitate the preparation of meals during flour periods ; - Providing community production of vegetables, an activity that guarantees food sovereignty and a source of income for women.

Emphasis on Sustainable Livelihoods

Through the association, we continue to search for projects that promote environmental responsibility, social equality and economic viability for families in the Pedra Branca Settlement.

Capacity - Building Component

Workshop for the production of native plant seedlings and creole seeds ? who will participate: young people and women from the community - Workshop for handling the machines of the flour mill who will participate: Farmers who cultivate cassava, producing flour and starch. The guidance must be carried out by a farmer who already has experience in the activity. - Exchange to exchange experiences and knowledge about flour paste who will participate: Families benefiting from gum production; - Course on the production of native plant seedlings and production of seeds adapted to the region for young women from the community, will be minis who have experience in agroecology.

Notable Community Participation

Young and old people will be considered in the project through active listening to their proposals and desires, encouraging the development of their protagonism (creativity, disposition, curiosity, ease of using computers and animation), inserting them into the community organization, mainly in the positions of governance, in organizational strengthening discussions seeking to explore their potential, experiences and wisdom and in the practical activities that will be carried out in the development of the project.
