Gerando vida na paisagem do Poti, e o fortalecimento da organização comunitária no Assentamento Salão Dourado

This proposal will allow the Salão Dourado Settlement to strengthen its community and productive organization. The project will consist of establishing a flour mill with equipment, carrying out exchanges with other organizations in the landscape, workshops, and building a headquarters for the association. It will enable the generation of income for families and the promotion of activities for young people and women. It will support and participate in a discussion space within the landscape to strengthen public policies for the development of family farming and environmental protection. It will carry out a process of including all members in the association's discussions, allowing for better decision-making and the empowerment of all.

Inovative Financial Mechanisms

Banner production telling the story of the community's achievements through the SGP resource.

Emphasis on Sustainable Livelihoods

Implementation of a structure to strengthen community organization. Training on associations. Implementation of a structure for cassava processing. Implementation of organic gardens.

Notable Community Participation

Meeting with the entire community, making their suggestions and participating in all activities. The elderly offer knowledge and experience, through their life story and their experiences in relation to the context of the Settlement's reality. Young people will participate in joint efforts, helping with work that requires the use of technology, planning actions and participating in all stages of the project. There will be a children's and youth cultural workshop and youth exchange.

Gender Focus

The project will contribute to reducing gender differences by including men and women in the same activities, providing opportunities for collective work, especially not dividing tasks by gender, but by skill. Seeking to work in partnership, valuing women's potential to perform other functions and jobs that were previously exclusive to men and vice versa. Providing income generation space for women.

Policy Impact

The project will support and participate in a discussion space within the landscape to strengthen public policies for the development of family farming and environmental protection.

Promoting Public Awareness of Global Environment

Capacity - Building Component

Workshops: 1- planting and cultivation of intercropped cassava, advised by a technician. 2 - Craft, art and recycling workshop. These workshops will be aimed at youth. They will be held bimonthly. 3 - Fertilization and insect control workshop using manipueira - for farmers, advised by a technician who develops this experience. Training/qualification: processing of cassava by-product (gum) in the production of cake, peta and beiju, for women, advised by a woman from the community itself. Youth exchange Exchange between jov landscape, aimed at youth. Exchange to observe other successful experiences in relation to the cultivation and processing of cassava, all beneficiaries.
