- to improve economic and social inclusion of the local economies while addressing the social and economic challenges of tourism and value-chain linked industries in the Eastern Cape
- to train young people to get technical skills in eco-tourism (hospitality, catering and safari tour)
- to determine an educational program aligned with the sustainable utilization of indigenous biological resources including biodiversity derived products for bioprospecting and trade, the hunting industry, agriculture and agro-processing of indigenous crops and vegetables
- to position them in the lodges adjacent to AENP
- to grow capacity amongst women and youth living in communities adjacent to AENP so that they can use their talents, skills and assets to earn a decent living, increase their income potential and ultimately help to create new jobs and black owned businesses
- to help improve social cohesion through the utilization of the ABCD methodology
- to help improve the destination attractiveness by developing more cultural and nature based experiences to complement the existing tourism and wildlife offerings, therefore promoting the idea of tourists staying long and spending more
- in the long term work with Nukakamma and other programme partners to help alleviate poverty and improve overall economic situation for communities around the park
