Baseline Assessment of South Afadzato Socio-ecological Production Landscape
a. To assist SGP National Coordinators and National Steering Committees a) to conduct a landscape-wide baseline based on a developed set of indicators for resilience in socio-ecological production landscapes; b) to develop the COMDEKS Country Programme Landscape Strategy following the template and guidelines provided for this purpose; and c) to synthesize lessons learned from the consultation process and baseline assessments.
b. To produce case study material, conduct community consultations, ensure stakeholder participation, identify and pilot indicators for resilience in socio-ecological production landscapes, and contribute to the development of the Landscape Strategy.
c. Use the baseline assessments as an instrument for the development and finalization of the COMDEKS Country Programme Landscape Strategies in participating countries. The baseline assessment will provide the National Coordinator and landscape stakeholders with information about the current state of the landscapes which can be used as a basis for setting goals and desired outcomes. The COMDEKS Country Programme Landscape Strategy will describe the landscape approach for supporting sustainable socio-ecological production activities at the community level, including priority sites and measures for project implementation.
d. Document lessons learned in carrying out baseline assessment and community consultations are expected to be captured to help develop case studies to be shared with other SGP country programs as well as external partners.
