Promoting a healthy lifestyle in a green and clean environment through the development of a rest and recreation park in the commune of Sipoteni
The Sipoteni commune, located on the international route Chisinau-Ungheni, is the largest rural locality in the C?l?ra?i district (approximately 7300 people) with increased natural, cultural, and agricultural potential.
On the territory of the Sipoteni commune, there are approx. 1200ha of forests located in the pavilions of the village, including those with the status of protected natural monuments. The village is surrounded by four forests: 3 deciduous and one pine forest. In 2021, the authority of the commune received as a donation land with an area of 0.0737 ha. This ground belonged to two men from Sipoteni with property rights on it. The land is located right in the centre of the village, where various events and activities are held and where the whole village gathers. As a continuation of the creation and play ground for a healthy, green, and clean living environment. There will be landscaping and greening of the land for leisure, as well as the installation of the irrigation system, in order to maintain a green and clean area. The implementation of integrated actions from the project will also contribute to the consolidation of territorial coherence and to the diversification and development of the rural economy in the member localities of the GAL "Codrii C?l?ra?ului?.
The issue of land development for rest and recreation was consulted offline through public consultations in three sectors of the locality and the members of the AO ,,Ba?tina Sipoteni?, in which 187 people participated and confirmed their support of the project idea.
According to the technical project, "The Park? will be representative through the original planning of the architecture; it will have a water basin, a stage for festive moments, a pedestrian area with lighted benches, avenues planted with trees, and other decorative trees.
The AO "Ba?tina Sipoteni? with the local authorities proposes to implement in several steps the technical project for the development of the donated land, in which the following actions and projects are to be implemented: Irrigation system, landscaping, environment-friendly outdoor lighting, outdoor video system.
The first phase of the development of the land began in the autumn of 2023 with the construction of the sanitary block accessible to all people, also adapted for people with special needs, ensuring the minimum standards, through the implementation of the project "Initiation of the development works of the recreation and leisure park from the center of the commune by building a public toilet," financed under the LEADER - Program for the implementation of the Local Development Strategy of the GAL "Codrii C?l?ra?ului".
We also plan to install an irrigation system on an area of 5 acres of green land.
Improve a recreation and leisure square by planting 25 decorative trees, 25 coniferous firs, flowers, and irrigated grass. In the landscaped park, there will be 8 trash cans and 7 benches, as well as good access roads with an area of 260 m2 that will also be paved.
An outdoor lighting system will be installed on the territory of the newly created park. The square will have 8 pillars with LED lighting fixtures that benefit the environment, reduce light pollution, and do not accumulate chemicals harmful to the environment.
Currently, we do not have a park in the village, and deforestation is a frequent phenomenon. On the village roads and in the fences, we rarely find deciduous species, and the locality is no longer as green as it used to be. That is why we propose to involve the citizens in the process of greening the locality through the flashmob event?a new tree in every yard or neighbourhood. The Local Authority of the commune will provide 200 coniferous firs for planting, and our people, after planting the trees, will post pictures on the AO Ba?tina Sipopteni's page to motivate other neighbours.
The members of the association are actively involved in community life, and during the implementation of the project, several activities will be organized to increase the awareness and ecological cultural level of the population. With the national sanitation event "Hai Moldova," which is organized as a flash mob in every village, the members of the Student Council, and the participation of young people from the high school, we will organize a round table with the generic theme of "Obtaining and preserving a greener and cleaner living space" and an informative seminar with the locals, with the specialist guest from the Environmental Protection Department, who will inform the locals about types of pollution, the damage caused to the environment as a result of deforestation and the burning of vegetation, adaptations to climate change, and the importance of greening the territory. All those events and meetings will be organized with the Sipoteni Local Authority under the auspices of "Cleaning Day" during the autumn and spring seasons. The town is also oriented towards the development of environmentally friendly tourist offers, which in 2021 were created and launched as four ecotourist routes that can be explored by hiking and biking: 1. Codrii Sipoteniului; 2. Wine Valley; 3. Royal Mail Road; 4. The Charm of the Hills. All these routes are connected to each other with localities from the C?l?ra?i, Str?seni, Ungheni, and Nisporeni districts. All these cities also have tourist information centers, and we are included in the national tourist routes.
