Restoring Rangelands and Sustainable Livelihoods Project
The project aims to combat the spread of alien species through uprooting their plants and extracting oil from the leaves for use in the production of insect repellent candles and bug sprays; and organic pesticides with the residues from the oil extraction processes. These products are produced for sale to generate income for producers.

Project Characteristics and Results
Significant Participation of Indigenous Peoples
Enactus Eswatini has partnered with the local community for the implementation of the project. Meeting have been held with the community leaders or chiefdom authorities to introduce and deliberate on the project. The community was able to understand the project and how it will benefit them. They also able decided on an action plan to train community members from one subcommunity of the chiefdom at a time and once they are confident with the production of the
end products. The same group will facilitate training of a group from another sub-community until the entire chiefdom is able to produce the products.
Capacity - Building Component
Enactus Eswatini has vast experience, the organization has received grants from UN organizations for project implementation.
Nevertheless, an NGO has been granted to produce training manual comprising of guidelines for good governance, proposal writing, log frame development, budgeting, impact assessments and evaluating the business model from an income generation and sustainability accounting, project management, and M&E produced for the grantees and future applicants. In addition to receiving the manual, the grantees will receive training on the content of the manual.
