Women participation in water security and natural resources management for building resilience to climate change
The project aims to provide support to the Chang Kranroy Community Forestry committee members to recreate the Eco-tourism areas to attract more tourism to get more revenue for improving payment of the Ecosystem Services to communities who put more effort in conservation of 9,104 ha of forest Areas. To achieve this result, the project will support the regular CF patrolling activity, repairing tree nurseries and planting more tree every year, the construction of a 100-meter wood bridge made from die wood, and the construction of the traditional water spillway (150mx4 mx 1.5m) to keep water available during the dry season. To involve more women in providing better eco-torism services, project will project training 20 women on how to produce souvenirs and hospitality techniques. To provide more means for CF committee members to earn more income for forest conservation, the water purifier station will be constructed with the capacity of producing 500 liters of purified water per hour at the eco-tourism Center. Moreover, the electricity network will also be connected to the eco-tourism Center to operate the water purifier station and provide clean water to the communities. Documentation of lessons learned, and good practices is also part of this project.
