The project "Enhancing the Conservation Capacity of Encephalartos Barteri ssp. Allochrous in Kwanka, Plateau State" is a comprehensive initiative aimed at preserving the endangered Encephalartos Barteri ssp. Allochrous in its natural habitat. The species faces threats such as habitat loss and unsustainable trade, making conservation efforts critical. The project's core objectives include empowering local communities in the Kwanka region with the knowledge and skills needed to conserve Encephalartos Barteri ssp. Allochrous populations in situ. It also seeks to establish the capacity for seed collection and conservation in community nurseries, thereby contributing to sustainable management practices.
