Participatory Restoration and Management of Stubb?s Creek Forest Reserve (SCFR).
Participatory Restoration and Management of Stubb?s Creek Forest Reserve (SCFR).
Participatory Restoration and Management of SCFR is proposed to restore and sustainably manage SCFR to set a pace for upgrade to a National Park. In partnership with critical stakeholders and establishment of an inclusive Project Management committee (PMC) and Local Organization Committee (LOC), at least 30 community men, women and youths would make up grant implementation team . Proposed activities include nursery operations for 20,000 seedlings of indigenous and mangrove species for use in restoration of 10Ha of degraded areas. To reduce pressure on the degraded forest, this project prioritizes livelihood activities and capacity building for at least 100 community men, women and youths from the host community (Eket Offiong). This would create employment and improve livelihoods in benefitting households.
