Forest Restoration for enhanced climate mitigation and livelihoods
Kabwafu area, located cloase to Vwaza Marsh and Nyika National Park and faces serious deforestation with resultant loss of biodiversity ecosystem services. Approved by the National Steering Committee (NSC) on 11th November 2022, the Enhancing Urban-Environmental-Sustainability Through Fighting Climate-Change-Impact with Total Community Engagement project (Project number: MLW/SGP/OP7/Y1/CORE/BD/2022/02), implemented by the SFS aims to provide sustainable markets and interventions to natural resources management that give rise to regenerative and restorative land use systems and ensure overall positive results and sustainability in Kabwafu, Malawi. This is accomplished by providing quality and high-value services to communities and farmers, utilizing its platform of expertise, applying sustainable agroecological practices, exploiting innovative collaborations, and complying with relevant laws and policies in its operating areas.

Notable Community Participation
At the onset implementation, gender analysis will be carried out to assess gender equality among men, women, boys, and girls in performance of productive, reproductive, socio-political activities and access and control of productive resources and benefits and representation of women in local level decision making. The project team is predominantly youthful.
Significant Participation of Indigenous Peoples
Community based approach underly the project theory. This ensures that indigenous people drive the project. gender analysis and gender transformation approaches will enhance significant participation of indigenous Peoples.
