The Nature Line project addresses data deficiencies in Nature Based Solutions (NBS) for coastal protection in the Maldives, focusing on B. Hithaadhoo's southern fringes. It aims to research the effectiveness and feasibility of NBS, specifically mangroves on tetrapod structures, covering 0.0002354 hectares experiencing rapid erosion. Aligned with SGP indicators for GEF 4.1 and 5, the project targets a threatened marine habitat of 0.7081 hectares. Emphasizing community engagement, it anticipates improved understanding of NBS, performance insights, and an evidence-based foundation for coastal protection decision-making, benefiting B. Hithaadhoo and similar Maldivian coastal areas.
