Enhancing food security through community oriented home gardening and integrating fruit trees in public spaces and home yards
The Kudarikulu project targets a small island with 90 households facing food insecurity due to insufficient fruit and vegetable crops, linked to degraded green spaces and poor farming practices. To address this, the project focuses on enhancing crop production, improving soil and land management, and providing training to farmers. The anticipated outcomes include increased availability of fresh produce, improving nutrition and income for women and youth. The project aims to supply fruit and vegetable crops to all 90 households and train 30 to 40 farmers, with a focus on empowering women by ensuring their representation among trainees.
