The lands in L. Gan and L. Fonadhoo, once thriving and healthy, now face severe degradation due to hazardous pesticides and excessive chemical fertilizer use. The primary aim of the project is to empower island farmers to adopt sustainable techniques, improving agriculture quality in L. Gan and L. Fonadhoo and contributing to long-term environmental health. The project addresses environmental damage caused by current farming practices by educating 50 farmers on vermicomposting, utilizing earthworms for eco-friendly soil enrichment. Training programs for farmers and school children raise awareness of sustainable practices. build a 1,000-square-foot polyhouse model farm to showcase chilli cultivation with vermicompost, illustrating practical implementation.
