Loei River Conservation
The project location is a portion of the Loei River watershed area, an adjacent to the ecological system of the Mekhong. Like many other communities in northeast Thailand, the majority of members earn their livings by farming. After 5 decades of introduction of lucrative cash crop, some of which are of alien species, and adoption of chemical substance in farming practice, the river has become polluted. Too high concentration of the chemical residue were witnessed and confirmed. With the growing consuming society, the future is not promising but prone to more serious condition thus requires urgent address.
