1.There emerged conservation groups at village level and their network with organizational structure and management plan.
2. About 5 ha of degraded forest land was rehabilitated.
3. About 30 % increase of the bamboo , 25 % for wild vegetable and mushroom
4. There emerged regulation for the use of natural resources in the target area.
5. Reversal of the degraded forest land was partially achieved , judging by moisture content in the soil compared to 3 years ago.
6. Reduction of expense in 30 families.
7. Instilling conservation awareness in youth was rated at 20 % successful.


Participatory Devaluation:

Methods:

1. Convening monthly workshop to evaluate the past activities
2. Convening meeting to summarize the entire project activities , inviting peers to share experience
3. Convening open forum among networks of the conservation group
4. Field survey to get the real picture of what have been achieved.

Participants:

60 persons from network committee, members of womens? group, members of the grantees, peers from outside communities and other stakeholders.

Impact:

294 members of the eight participating villages applied for the membership of the grantee. Of these, 65 % exhibited awareness to participate in the activities. Of 65 %, 30 % constitute excellent participation, 40 % medium and 30% poor.

The livelihood in one of the eight participating village appeared to be secured while the remaining need to build solid foundation.

There were government officers and other population paying visit to the project to learn and share experience with the project. Moreover, the Japanese International Volunteer Centre requested to send one volunteer to work with the project.

Future Plan:

1. Scaling up the activities to cover 15 villages in the project area
2. Encouraging youth and womens? group to participate in the project activities
3. Developing of human resources and quality of life of target group by focusing on practicing sustainable agriculture , adding value to agricultural products for sales.
4. Building capacity of the organization and its network to be self- reliable.
