1. There emerged the ?Community of Man and Forest? Network with a committee formulating a long term plan for managing environment and natural resources. Through coordination with the government?s scheme Social Investment Fund, the plan would be carried out in the target area.
2. There emerged farmers practicing integrated farming ( 70 % of what had previously expected ). These farmers were model for other in term of self-reliance , cost reduction and chemical-free agriculture.
3. An area of 18,000 rai ( 2,880 ha) was allocated as community forest around which 743 rai (118 ha ) was rehabilitated through reforestation.

Participatory Evaluation: ( on 15-16 June 2001 )

Methods: 2-day seminary forum where the followings were taking place.

1. Presentation of the entire picture of the project by responsible persons
2. Brainstorming to identify weakness and strength of project activities
3. Discussion of output and outcome
4. Planning to mobilize people organizations
5. Site visits to share experience with communities
6. Summarization of report.

Participants: 7 natural leaders, 3 official leaders, 4 representatives from NGOs, 2 students,
2 government officers and 2 specialists.
Impact:

1. The ?Community of Man and Forest? Network is being kept abreast of prevailing environment situation and Community Forest Act resulting in collective activities to protect the immediate forest.

2.As to the security of livelihood, there have been effort to compare the practice of modern agriculture to that of a more environmentally-friendly ones. Those who are model have presented the idea and result of the practices to other groups. In addition, these model farmers have participated in emerging groups practicing sustainable/new theory agriculture encouraged by government sector and community forest.

3. Through the coordination with the Social Investment Fun ,the committee of the network was taking part in influencing environmental network at provincial level to carry out the activities specified in the Management of Natural Resources Plan.

Future Plan:

The project would disseminate the idea and result of the practice to four surrounding districts: Nakhornthai, Chartrakarn, Wangthong and Nern Ma Prang. Plan and mechanism to solicit cooperation with like-minded CBOs would be formulated.Besides, the project would be a mechanism in the Phitsanuloke People Organization. The main objective is to emphasize the rehabilitation of the catchment area of the middle Nan River.
