· Awareness raising activities were successfully organized and enhanced community knowledge on enviornemntal issues and biodiversity conservation.
- Five (5) training courses were conducted for participating households on how to grow medicinal plants.
- Representatives of local stakeholders made an exchange visit to Nghia Trai ? Hung Yen Province with 4 participants to learn from a model of medicinal plants plantation, processing and sales of the products.
- An advocacy campaign was carried out to advocate for biodiversity conservation in general and medicinal plants in particular.
- Five (5) training courses on techniques of planting medicinal plants for income generation were conducted with 200 participants.
- A booklet on how to grow and use medicinal plants was developed and distributed.

· Results of the project models
- Community Conservation Garden: 2 gardens were established with an area of 1,220 m2 accommodating total 66 plant species
- The model of growing medicinal plants for sale: 20 households, 3,364m2, growing 12 different medicinal plants, farmers? income was doubled rice income (about 3 million VND/household annually from growing medicinal plant).
- 4 training workshops were organized. Participating households learned how to grow medicinal plants.
· The understanding and knowledge on environmental issues in general and on biodiversity conservation in particular, and capacity in project implementation and management and M&E of the project grantee organization staff were considerably enhanced thanks to the project implementation and management, and training activities, such as training workshops, study tour, exchange on project management, provided by GEF/SGP office.

Project sustainability and replication
The project models for growing medicinal plants were potential for replication thanks to their suitability to the local context and the community understanding and knowledge on how to grow and use medicinal plants.
- However, due to the small scope of the project, the project had limited chance for sustainability and replication.

There is no plan for scaling up by GEF funding.

There is potential that the local department of agriculture and rural development and the nature reserve will replicate the project models in their agro-extension programmes.

There is no linkage with GEF initiative.
