During project implementation, the following activities took place: assessment of community information relevant to the project, such as the relation of each family with the land, their sources of income, etc.; implementation of the garden and pharmacy; training workshops according to the proposal. The laboratory, the garden and a meeting and conference facility were the products of these activities. The Cedro community has become a reference in the wider scope of the municipality?s communities due to the success in the implementation of this initiative, which provided low-cost, high-quality medication for the low-income population, bringing back traditional practices such as community beekeeping. The Community Members? Association was strengthened. Cerrado natural resource conservation and rational use gained a lot of space in the Cedro community and the surrounding populations as well. The project?s success was verified in the independent ex-post study published in 2005.
