This project will take place in the municipality of Alto Paraíso, state of Goiás. An improvement in the quality of life of the inhabitants of the São Jorge Village is sought in this project proposal, building capacity in the salespeople and service renders for higher quality products and services, and promoting interchanges with successful ecotourism experiences. Cerrado product use, management and service rendering will be offered in training courses and lectures. In addition, two visits will be arranged for restaurant, snack shop, inn and camping area owners during a three month period. 20 establishment owners will be trained for quality management of their business, with improved profitability, 20 local inhabitants producing Cerrado fruit sweets and jams from their own backyards, and 2 capacity building trips are the expected results of this project.

Capacity - Building Component
Capacity-building courses and lectures will be offered to village inhabitants and establishment owners in Cerrado fruit use and management of ecotourism ventures.
Emphasis on Sustainable Livelihoods
Creating alternative sources of income for the communities in the surroundings of the environmentally protected areas is a priority for this project and conservation movements as a whole. Integrating environmental conservation and community development is extremely important for the São Jorge Village and the Cerrado.
