Workshop "Plantas Medicinais no Cerrado"
This project has the objective of disseminating knowledge about medicinal plants and their potential uses by traditional communities and the scientific community. A better understanding between the people and the environment is sought. Rescuing the traditional use of natural resources with pharmaceutical potential in the Cerrado as a means of creating sustainable livelihoods and biodiversity maintenance is also an objective. An information network will be formed for medicinal plants in the Cerrado and their potential uses. Methodologies for planning medicinal plant projects will be systematized, scientific knowledge production will be accessed, knowledge of the current legislation on the subject twill be promoted, gaps in the current legislation will be identified, appropriate training in medicinal plant use for traditional Cerrado populations will be developed, and a database will be assembled with information about Cerrado medicinal plants. Both the beneficiaries of this project and the grantee will benefit from the workshops which will bring together numerous experiences with the medicinal plant activity in the Cerrado biome. Knowledge will be consolidated for the qualification of all stakeholders.
