Seven community centers, seven schools, and three health outposts received electric energy from the implementation of the energy systems. 45 people participated in the capacity-building and training course offered for 3 representatives from each chosen community and representatives from communities not chosen by the project. Efforts were made to encourage the communities to adopt the systems as their own, taking responsibility for their maintenance. System management proposals were called for and analyzed. A local organization with accumulated experience in renewable energy source projects evaluated the implementation of the systems and approved. Problems faced include transportation of the equipment. The importance of bringing the community into the initiative through training, capacity-building, and a general effort to increase involvement stayed as an important lesson. The proposed goals were thus achieved, and the project was considered a success.
