Replication and Systematisation of Pilot Phase experience: use of herbs and medicinal plants (Phase II)
Reaplicação de Conhecimentos e Experiências (Fase II)
Replication of the MOPORV experience in a low-income small farmer rural community is the objective of this project. Demonstration of the feasibility of uniting a community in search of a collective effort toward economic and environmental sustainability through phytotherapy is also an objective sought. Local reforestation initiatives are possible, as well as conservation that can bring economic gains to the population are possible, given the weak enforcement of existing environmental regulations. The Rio Preto community, in the municipality of Rio Verde, state of Goiás, will be marshaled and encouraged to create socio-environmental projects of their own. In addition to medicinal plant production and processing, other activities which will help to unite environmental conservation and community development will be evaluated and implemented. The whole experience will be published in a 50-page book for dissemination of the activities.
