Research on Cerrado Medicinal Plants and Community Medicinal Plants Nursery
Flora Medicinal do Cerrado: identificação, representação e sistematização do uso popular das principais ervas da medicina tradicional do Centro-Oeste brasileiro
This project seeks to rescue, preserve, and promote traditional popular medicine traditions in Midwestern Brazil. Biodiversity in the region will be promoted by the conscience built in the community and local authorities. Traditional communities will have their knowledge appreciated, and technical capacity-building will be offered. An assessment of the main Cerrado popular and home medicinal flora species will be carried out. Species already and not yet identified will be registered, and photographically depicted. Scientific materials will be produced to subsidize research, and a laboratory will be installed for botanical identification and phytotherapic documentation.
