Field data reveals that soil conservation is essential in this project area in order to establish environmentally viable farming methods.
Objectives, activities, groups involved
Awareness raising of farmers in 3 villages on the advantages of organic farming, composting training of SALT system to minimise soil errosion, home garden development
The project aims to minimize usage of agro chemicals in farming, thereby cutting down costs and increasing farmers' income by 50%
Establish a permanent forest cover by planting over 1200 plants.
Promote a farming system with emphasis on soil conservation among 80 family units in an area of 40 acres.
Compile a handbook on sustainable farming to be distributed among 120 farmers' organizations
