During the project, unanticipated cooperation developed during project implementation stage with TUBITAK (Turkish Scientific, technical and Research Institute for education activities which provided an extra srength to the project.

The project contributed to activate the Ministry of Environment (MoE) on Mountain Zone Management, furthermore the MoE has been initiated the formulation of the National Mountain Zone Management Strategic Action Plan. Meanwhile, United Nations has declared the 2002 as the International Year of the Mountains, the project was benefited and the declaration has motivated the government to take action as well.

Some of the project outputs produced at the end of the project were taken into account by the relevant government agencies (such as alternative mountain tourism activities interested in Ministry of Tourism).

Project became sustainable with the progress during the project implementation phase. Turkish National Committee for the Mountain Zone management was established so that the further steps expected to be carried out by the Committee.

Co-operation with local NGO were established. The project took a role to motivate the local NGOs to work against a development project, which was harmful for the natural assets of the area. The project has helped to raise awareness in general in the region towards the importance of mountain areas.
