Presentation of Nature Reservation Areas in Turkey at Local, National and International Levels, and Granting Public Participation in in-situ Protection of Gene resources (the case of Gevne Valley)
Creating and disseminating a data base on Nature Reservation Areas in Turkey;
And determination of endemic plant species in Gevne Valley (Alanya Hadim), and capacity building and income generation for in-situ conservation of these species
Project had been planned in two stages, and objectives of the projects were:
1.Determination of structural properties and biological diversity, presenting this information to the interested public bodies, development of more effective methods for their protection, development of a data based required for realization of scientific researches and training activities, in 35 nature reserve areas in Turkey, through putting it on the agenda of local, national and international bodies.
2.Determination of endemic plant species, and training the people settled in the project area with the objective of in situ conservation of these species, and creating alternative income resources for the people living in Gevne Valley, which has determined to have a very high degree of biological diversity, through preliminary researches conducted in the area.
