In Gevne Valley 22 new endemic plant species new for Turkey and seven new plant species were identified. Local public involvement was provided during the socio-economic surveys and to define the threats to endemic plants.

A valuable reference book about the Nature Reserve areas and a poster produced as information/awareness and education material as well as several seminars organized for the local people and local officers.

The findings during the research stage were submitted to MoF General Directorate of National Parks, Game and Wildlife. So, it has estimated that the project had contribution on taking some Nature Reserves as case studies within the large scale GEF Project, Biodiversity Conservation and Natural Resources Management. (total budget of the GEF project in questions is 11.5 million USD)

In some of the nature reserve areas following the project attention were drawn from the relevant authorities on the problems. Further activities in the case study area (Gevne Valley) planned to continue throughout the internal capacity of the Grantee.

However, the in kind support of the partner (MoF) were not assured at the beginning of th e project. Furthermore, for the 1st stage the in kind support of the MoF General Directorate of National Parks, Game and Wildlife was essential, however, the expected support could not be received which adversely affected the project implementation causing to delays.
