Project Characteristics and Results
Gender Focus
Although gender is not a defined focus in the design of the project, women are involved in the following actvities: project planning, establishment of nursery, outplanting, and project monitoring. Women also play an important role in the installation of the micro hydropower system. Aside from preparing the food during construction, they assist in hauling materials and equipment, document/monitor the project, and take active part in feedbacking to ensure project success.
Notable Community Participation
The conservation and protection of the watershed shall be undertaken by the community. Likewise, the micro hydropower system shall be constructed, operated, and maintained by the community. It should be noted that the community planned and designed the project.
