Apayao Community-Based Resource Management Project (LUZON)
The project aimed to assist the two tribal communities in the installation and development and establishment of a clean, renewable energy source - micro hydropower system to supply the power requirements of 90 households; and protection of the watershed in two (2) indigenous communities in Apayao. It is expected that this project will be able to: (a) provide the initial support to attain the food sufficieny; (b) develop local capacity; and (c) protect and conserve the remaining natural resources. The third objective is inherent to the other two objectives as this will spell out the success and sustainability of the resources base that directly affects food production and capacity building.
