Community-Based Promotion and Development of Non-Conventional Energy (VISAYAS)
Installation and use of biogas fuel for cooking, lighting, and heating as a contribution towards addressing global warming and climate change at the grassroots level.
This project is a community response to minimize global warming and climate change by containing greenhouse gases through use of biogas fuel for cooking, lighting and heating. Biogas digester/generators will be installed in two barangays for use and maintenance by beneficiaries or possible replication in other barangays. Swine production shall be integrated into biogas generation wherein animal waste is used as promary feedstock in the digester for conversion into methane gas the primary fuel product. Biogas generation will cause the reduction of the demand and use of firewood indirectly conserves and protects indigenous tree species from indiscriminate cutting and burning. These contribute in lessening the impact of climate change caused by global warming.
