Enhancing Forest Margin Agriculture and Ancestral Domain Management in Minalwang (MINDANAO)
Biodiversity conservation and securing Higaonon culture and ancestral domain through the enhancement of indigenous farm and forest conservation practices; and conservation of traditional forest products through sustainable extraction, processing, marketing and development.
The project intends to establish nurseries of forest tree species and demonstration farms using selected traditional rice varieties. It aims to conduct skills training on agro-forestry for selected community members and leaders. And it hopes to develop an ancestral domain management plan to be able to receive a Certificate of Ancestral Domain Claim (CADC) covering 20,000 hectares.

Notable Community Participation
Indigenous community identified and designed the project. It likewise actively participated in the enhancement of indigenous farm and forest conservation, conservation of traditional forest products, formulation of an ancestral domain management plan, and applying for a Certificate of Ancestral Domain Claim (CADC).
Significant Participation of Indigenous Peoples
Project implementation and management was jointly undertaken by the proponent and the Minalwang Tribal Council. The following IP groups that have been involved in the project are: Minalwang Higaonon Tribal Council; Minalwang Cooperative; and Minalwang Women's Group.
One of the success of this project is building a generation of trust between the project partners, Higaonons and Dumagats (IP groups).
One of the best practice of this project is the use of Higaonon community organizer was beneficial to local capacity building.
