Address energy needs of villagers through the use of wind by Manawa Sampath Saha Parisara Surakum Sanvidanaya
Rationale
Villagers in the area use firewood as the source of fuel for their energy needs.
Since daily consumption of timber is excessive, the forests are destroyed, bare land is exposed, soils quality degraded.
The village has been overlooked by the national grid probably due to its remote location.
Objectives, benefits:
Demonstrate the viability of wind energy as an environmentally benign technology for meeting basic electricity needs of the community.
Improve livelihoods of the people by generating income through battery charging and lighting rural homes. Address energy needs of villagers through the use of wind, capacity building and awareness raising of community groups, collect data, erect windmills and obtain technical advice and services.
