Compost Making and Organic Agriculture
Compost Making and Organic Agriculture
This project aims at demonstrating the feasibility of making organic compost and its application to growing vegetables. It will imply composting locally available wastes using relatively simple technologies to produce high quality composts that will be applied to agricultural land at Belle Mare. It will demonstrate that using composts would lead to a reduction in the use of chemical fertilisers and hence show small-scale approaches to preserving the fertility of land and enhance organic farming methods. The planning grant allocated by the GEF/SGP used for developing a project to be funded by the GEF/SGP.
