Propagation & Conservation of Traditional Herbal Medicines and Indigenous Trees/shrubs and Herbs.
The project is managed by an indigenous CBO to address the environmental concerns in the northern district of Apac. Indigenous woodlands have been depleted as a source of livelihood for the local populations especially for firing bricks and fish smoking. In most cases the species that do well for the activities are of great importance for herbal medicine. As a way of having Biodiversity Conservation and climate change mitigation, the project is to promote conservation of species traditionally used for herbal medicine in the local communities. There is also need to have an improvement in the way the herbs are processed from their crude form with the assistance of the Natural chemotherapist?s laboratory. To achieve these objectives a planning process was put in place to enable proper refocusing of the project.
