Protecting and conserving Saba Hot springs and Ilala palm
kabila Saba-Lubanda Project is located in Binga district.The community of Saba village thought of embarking on this project after realising how the conditions of the springs and Illala were detoriorating yet at the same time the two resources are of great importance to the current and future generations.The project is actually designed to support initiatives aimed at protecting the environment.
Project objectives
-to protect and conserve Kabila hot springs
-to protect and conserve illala by fencing the area
-to establish a cutting schedule for illala as a way of avoiding indiscriminate cutting of the plant and control those from outside
-to develop the springs into a tourist centre and generate revenue
-to encourage, promote and support environmental conservation
-to establish a craft centre and provide income opportunities to the surrounding communities who can produce various crafts /atr for visiting tourists
-to increase awareness of conserving natural resources and stimulate
