Operation Noah Project
Operation Noah is located in the Guruve District, Mashonaland central province.The project seeks to address environmental degradation through agroforestry in the Zambezi river valley, the ultimate aim being to protect the international water course from pollution and siltation. The project components include reafforestation works, gully reclamation, erosion control, promotion of woodfuel saving stoves, species inventoring, catchment management and training.

Objectives of the project
-to introduce and maintain agro-forestry methods of farming and to provide water
-to increase crop yields and tree species by planting trees that increase soil fertility
-to make sure that every household plants at least 20 trees per season
-to produce vegetables for family consumption
-to improve the bio diversity of the area and positively affect climate change

Activities to be carried out under project include
-nursery management
-agroforestry
-reafforestation
-gully reclamation
-water harvesting
-training
-farmer visits
-species conservation
-catchment management

project participants and or beneficiaries
-There are 30 active participants in the cooperative as for now ,however the cooperativ is growing.The project will benefit 650 households in the district

-provision of clean water
-gully free area
-improved fuel wood consumption methods
-reduced rate of fire wood consumption
improved standard of living of the community members.

Project Characteristics and Results
Promoting Public Awareness of Global Environment
By virtue of the project location deep in the Zambezi River valley, the initiative has become just one of the few activities directly targetted towards international waters within the whole of the Zambezi Valley. This way it has carved itself a strategic place in terms of promoting community based activities targetted towards an environmental issue of global concern.
