Women and Energy Project
This project spearheaded by UNDP and Energia, involves the mobilisation of NGOs, CBOs, institutions, Government and other institions involved in sustainable energy activities to work towards and promote gender sensitive activities. The overall aim of the process is to raise the participation of women in the decision making, planning and implementation of sustainable energy alternatives in Zimbabwe.It is also to highlight and document initiatives, experiences and the status of women in sustainable energy in Zimbabwe through a participatory process that will culminate in a national work plan and initiate perpetual dialogue ti improve the status of women in energy policy formulation.

-to bring together most of the tskeholders to establish needs, priorities, constraints and opportunities for improving the status of women in sustainable energy
-to set a platform for dialogue and exchange of information
-to document experiences, knowledge and initiatives for presentation at the regional workshop.

-10 community based women who have benefitted from the energy projects, initiatives and other activities by government, NGOs and others.

-a list of nominations to participate at the regional workshop in kenya
-lay the basis for follow -up action

The benefits of the workshop are expected to cut across the whole spectrum of the nation as the workshopsresults are expected to affect policy and initiatives.
