An undertaking to determine the extent the UNDP GEF/SGP projects have attained objectives; identified critical success factors that influenced its attainment and sustainability. The results of the documentation were used in the formulation of the policy proposals and policy advocacy strategies for dissemination to various stakeholders.

Notable Community Participation
Community residents actively participated in providing information necessary to complete the four (4) case studies on SGP-funded projects: Anini-y Community-Based Coastal Resource Management (PP-123), Biodiversity Conservation Program for the Aytas (PP-132), Enhancing Forest Margin Agriculture and Ancestral Domain Management in Minalwang (OP-02.97-M), and Community-Based Watershed Management and Water Resource Utilization for Hydro Power (OP-16.98-M).
Promoting Public Awareness of Global Environment
From the four (4) case studies, three (3) policy papers were developed to influence policy-making at the local and national levels. The policy papers dealt with community-managed biodiversity conservation, sustainable livelihood, and indigenous knowledge, practices and skills. From these, policy proposals were presented for the consideration fo the Philippine President Joseph Estrada for a policy pronouncement on the occasion of World Environment Day 2000.
