Kwimba Biogas Demonstration Project
Kwimba is one of the driest districts in Tanzania. The acute drought conditions coupled with excessive stock of cattle have put Kwimba among districts in Tanzania with severe land degradation. The primary objective is to promote and popularize the use of biogas technology as an alternative source of energy to fuel wood by establishing demo units. Also to reverse the trend of environment degradation by encouraging wide adoption of biogas cookers which in turn would reduce household demand for fuelwood.
